Kiko Casilla hints at future plans following Leeds promotion
Kiko Casilla that he has still three years left on his contract after being asked whether he plans to stay at Leeds United following their promotion to the Premier League.
Casilla’s future at Elland Road looked somewhat unclear. The Spaniard has just returned from an eight-game ban for racially abusing Jonathan Leko earlier this season (via ).

He did make a swift return to Marcelo Bielsa’s plans. However, he had to settle for a place on the bench with loanee Illan Meslier holding onto the gloves for Thursday’s win over Barnsley.
Some fans would be forgiven for wondering if Casilla will leave the club this summer. But when asked whether he plans to stick around as Leeds prepare for life in the top flight, the 33-year-old certainly hinted that he is planning to stay.

“Yes, I have three more years left,” , when asked about whether he plans to stay at Leeds.
TBR View: Leeds may benefit from offloading Casilla
Despite Casilla’s comments, it may arguably make more sense for Leeds to move the former Real Madrid man on once the window opens.
The incident with Leko has certainly tainted his reputation.
And in football terms, Leeds have, so far, not suffered from having Meslier replace him in goal. The Frenchman has looked excellent during the early stages of his Elland Road career.
Casilla meanwhile, has made some major errors during his time at Leeds. Meslier arguably needs to be tested more, but right now, there looks to be little reason for Bielsa to make another change now that he has both stoppers available.
So if the chance to sell Casilla presents itself this summer, perhaps Leeds would be wise to let him move elsewhere.
