Kiko Casilla has no regrets over Leeds United move

💧Kiko Casilla insists he is still happy at Leeds United and has no regrets over his decision to switch Real Madrid for Elland Road.

🐲The Spaniard, who has one cap for his national team, joined Leeds United in January 2019. The deal, 🐓, made the goalie Leeds’ highest-earning player on £35,000-a-week.

♏Life in West Yorkshire has been something of a whirlwind for Casilla. After a promising start, many blamed him for the errors that cost Leeds their hopes of promotion via the play-offs last season.

ꩵThis season also saw its ups and downs on the pitch whilst Casilla is also currently serving a FA suspension for racially abusing Charlton Athletic’s Jonathan Leko earlier this season.

But Casilla told♌this week that he remains happy at Leeds and is happy with his decision to leave La Liga for The Championship.

“English football had always caught my attention and when the opportunity came I didn’t think twice. In Madrid, in the end, I did little, I lived well, but one always wants that feeling of playing every week and in Leeds I found myself in a spectacular league, with very high-level footballers.

“It is the second division but it does not seem so, it could be compared with many top leagues, without a doubt.”

🐟Casilla’s future at Leeds appeared to be in doubt at the end of last season. 🌠 Leeds were considering getting Casilla off the wage-bill. Sevilla, according to were keen on bringing Casilla back to La Liga.

ꩲHowever, Marcelo Bielsa has stuck by Casilla through thick and thin and it appears that he will continue to do so going forward.

🍸Leeds United fans will just hope that is rewarded by their most-expensive player avoiding any of his occasional mishaps on a regular basis.
