Kieran Gibbs says Arsenal must make one January signing to help 24-year-old player
Former Arsenal player Kieran Gibbs has now stated the one signing Arsenal need to make before the January window closes.
Mikel Arteta’s side finally returned to winning ways with their 5-0 win against Crystal Palace yesterday.

Arsenal proved that their short break away in Dubai was a timely mental reset as well as a rest for the legs.
And whilst Arteta’s men were successful this weekend, there will still be stern tests to come in the next weeks and months.
Moreover, Kieran Gibbs has now been stating his concern that the club are still lacking one profile they need in order to achieve their aspirations this season.
Speaking on the podcast, Gibbs thought there was still an important acquisition that Arsenal could make in January if they can’t afford a new striker.
Gibbs was concerned that Arsenal would look short if Declan Rice ever got injured in the near future and urged Arteta to make a move.
Kieran Gibbs thinks Arsenal need to sign a new midfielder in January
Speaking on the podcast, Gibbs said: “I said it a few weeks ago, I think the middle of the park would be something to strengthen in the January transfer window if they can’t strengthen up top just purely because of the money.
“He’s key [Rice], we need him, he’s the first name on the team sheet and if anything, if there is something wrong with him for a while, then that’ll need to be addressed this window for sure.”

Of course, many Arsenal fans may hope that Thomas Partey can be the man to back Rice up in the event of an injury.
Jorginho also proved yesterday once again that he’s a capable deputy.
So whilst Arsenal do need to revamp their midfield in the summer, Partey should probably be replaced with a profile similar to Douglas Luiz, a short term solution doesn’t seem to be needed this month.
Gibbs is right to recognise that Arsenal are dependent on Rice, but that’s a hard situation to resolve in January.
Perhaps a defender should be brought in on a short-term basis this month, but otherwise Arsenal should prioritise the summer.
That being said, Declan Rice has now sent a one-word message to one of the club’s biggest targets.
