Kia Joorabchian is now trying to take £50m Arsenal target to Aston Villa

Kia Joorabchian is a name Arsenal fans will know very well – mainly for all the wrong reasons.

The 52-year-old was memorably involved in deals which saw Willian, David Luiz and Cedric Soares move to Arsenal, all of whom are, or were, his clients, amid a miserable time for the Gunners.

Jamie Carragher even famously claimed that Joorabchian caused Arsenal to finish eighth by bringing his clients to the Emirates Stadium, : “Your signings at Arsenal took them to 8th, now they’ve gone, they’re top.”

Now, the Iranian could cause further upset amongst Arsenal fans…

Well, Joorabchian’s Sports Invest UK agency represent some excellent players, such as Douglas Luiz, Philippe Coutinho, Sergio Reguilon and Kenny Tete.

Bologna No.9 Joshua Zirkzee is also on his portfolio of footballers, a player Arsenal would apparently like to sign this summer.

A story from even recently claimed that Edu has offered the Dutchman a £99,000-a-week contract as Mikel Arteta and the Brazilian attempt to sign a new striker.

Now – however – Joorabchian could push Zirkzee towards Aston Villa.

Italian outlet believe the man from Tehran is currently working with Aston Villa and Bologna to see how much the Serie A side would accept for the 22-year-old this summer, as he aims to help Unai Emery sign the Arsenal target.

Zirkzee – who has been compared to Dennis Bergkamp – is enjoying a fine 2023/24 campaign with Bologna, scoring goals in 29 Serie A appearances to put Thiago Motta’s side on the brink of UEFA Champions League qualification.

Bologna Sports News believe the Italian outfit would accept a sum in the region of €60m – €70m (£50m – £60m) for the Schiedam-born forward this summer.

Edu could still sign another Sports Invest UK client this summer

If Zirkzee does slip through Arsenal’s fingers this summer, negotiations might still take place with Joorabchian over another Sports Invest UK client – the aforementioned Luiz.

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Arsenal are huge fans of the Aston Villa No.6 – while Edu’s son has even been spotted having dinner with the Brazil international.

Therefore, an agreement could still take place with Joorabchian this summer over Luiz, even if Zirkzee moves elsewhere.
