Key Union Berlin figure says Liverpool loanee Loris Karius ‘not satisfied’
Union Berlin manager Urs Fischer has urged on-loan Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius to use his disappointment as a catalyst to get into his team .
The 27-year-old signed for the Bundesliga outfit during the transfer window and was expected to play first-team football.
That hasn’t really happened though, with Fischer preferring experienced stopper Andreas Luthe instead.
The 33-year-old has kept Karius in reserve during the opening two games of the campaign – with Fischer explaining that the Liverpool man isn’t happy.
“Loris is certainly not satisfied with that, but that’s a good thing.
“It would be wrong if he just accepted it. He should show it with his performances and we will see where it goes.”
Karius is desperate to revive his career but media and supporters will struggle to forget his high-profile errors at Liverpool.
The Champions League Final of 2018 was particularly catastrophic for the German as he gifted Real Madrid two goals.
Last season he went on loan to Besiktas and once again he did suffer a small blip during his time playing in Turkey.
He was given the chance to play through his poor form at the Turkish outfit but he’s already facing a battle to get in the team at Berlin.

Interestingly Karius might have had more chance of being involved had he stuck around at Liverpool.
During the early stages of pre-season, he was seen training with the first-team and with Alisson injured he could have earnt a reprieve.
Adrian has flattered to deceive too and with the untried Caoimhin Kelleher in reserve, Klopp might have turned to Karius.
His days at Liverpool do now look numbered and it’ll be interesting to see if the goalkeeper can get himself a run of games during his current loan spell.
