Kevin Kilbane has claimed he would “love to see” Diego Costa in an Everton shirt after his brilliant performance for Atletico Madrid against their arch rivals in the International Champions Cup.
Atletico produced a stunning display in the pre-season match to record a 7-3 victory.
Costa netted four times including three in the first-half and was also sent off after an altercation with Dani Carajal, who was also dismissed.
The 30-year-old has been known as a fiery character throughout his career, but also a top goalscorer too that has heaped him play at the elite level.
He managed just five goals in 21 games last season across all competitions, but has been lethal during his time with Atletico and previously in England with Chelsea.
Kilbane has suggested that Costa would be an incredible addition for Everton this summer, but believes it would be unlikely.
The Sun has reported this month that the Spaniard is available to leave Atletico this summer and that he would be open to talks with Everton about a switch to Goodison Park.
But surely his heroics in the Madrid derby will have some impact on that.
“Diego Costa with a first-half hat-trick for Atletico v Real and totally bossed Real’s defence. Can’t see it happening but I’d love to see him at Everton,”

TBR’s View:
Costa is the perfect all-round striker that is strong, quick and a nightmare for defenders to handle.
He won two Premier League titles during his time at Stamford Bridge and was irresistible in England, with his style a perfect match.
It seems unlikely that Atletico would want to get rid of their four-goal hero and Costa could surely still have an important role to play for them in the new season.
