Kevin De Bruyne delivers honest Savinho verdict right after Manchester City’s 4-1 win over West Ham

Savinho starred for Manchester City as they won back-to-back Premier League games by beating West Ham United 4-1 at the Etihad Stadium.

The Manchester City winger helped the hosts break the deadlock as his attempted cross struck Vladimir Coufal and deflected past Alphonse Areola into the back of the net.

Erling Haaland doubled City’s lead, courtesy of a header from close range but it was Savinho was stole the headlines after leaving Coufal for dead before delivering an outstanding cross from far out to set the Norwegian up.

Against Leicester City as well, the pair combined for the Sky Blues’ second goal in their 2-0 win.

In the second half, the 20-year-old picked up the ball in the middle of the park and played a sublime through ball after spotting Haaland’s darting run, whose dinked finish was a thing of beauty.

All in all, Pep Guardiola’s men dominated as Kevin De Bruyne had his say on the Brazilian after the contest.

Kevin De Bruyne raves about “exceptional” Savinho after Man City thrash West Ham

Kevin De Bruyne set Phil Foden’s strike up as well to cap off a well-deserved victory for Manchester City before Niclas Fullkrug’s late consolation goal.

De Bruyne was full of praise for Savinho’s display and his season as a whole after City beat West Ham.

“The talent is really there. He started really well and it went a bit down with the whole team. It’s normal for a guy of his age, but he’s got exceptional quality so it’s good he gets confidence and makes a difference.”

The Belgian, who wore the armband for Manchester City against West Ham also told the club’s official in-house media: “I think he had a lot of moments where he did really well, I think he started the season really well and then obviously, with us doing a little bit less, it was hard I think on him, you know, for a young player.”

“Lately, it seems like he found a bit of confidence again and obviously, he’s scoring last week and helped and today, he had a really good performance so happy for him.”

Savinho would have been delighted to come across such high praise from a true Manchester City legend in De Bruyne.

As the midfield maestro stated, the £30.9 million () man has had a top-quality debut season at the Etihad Stadium and now, his productivity is starting to catch up with his brilliant performances.

Starting on the left-wing in two games on the trot now, Savinho has looked like a breath of fresh air.

The youngster is creating chances for fun while his threat in one-v-one situations remains sky-high, as exemplified by how he tore Coufal to shreds time and again on Saturday.

Savinho looks like a future superstar in the making and he seems ready to lead Manchester City’s revival in the second half of the season.
