Kevin Campbell identifies nine managers he would have at Arsenal over Unai Emery

that the Arsenal board need to act and get rid of manager Unai Emery, and has identified nine managers that he would consider to replace the Spanish boss.

Emery has masterminded just four Premier League wins this season from 12 league games, winning just won of their last seven league and cup outings. The Gunners have drawn three times, as well as losing to Liverpool, Sheffield United and Leicester.

Arsenal’s form on the pitch is not the only blot on Emery’s record as Gunners manager. This season, he let the players appoint Granit Xhaka as captain and has already been forced to strip him of the armband. Mesut Ozil was also frozen out.

Former Arsenal striker Campbell has claimed on AFTV that it is now time for the Gunners board to act and get rid of former Paris Saint-Germain boss Emery – and has identified nine managers he would consider to replace him.

“Allegri gets a mention. Rafa Benitez gets a mention, who is in China,” “Luis Enrique is going through some bereavement with his daughter passing away, but that might be the kickstart he needs – he knows how to play attacking football.
“Eddie Howe has done a fantastic job at Bournemouth. Chris Wilder at Sheffield United? What could he do with better players? Steven Gerrard – he’s come in at Rangers and done a decent job. They’re playing good, aggressive football. We can chuck in the old Arsenal boys in there as well – Mikel Arteta, Freddie Ljungberg and Patrick Vieira.”

TBR’s view – Of the nine, who would be best for Arsenal?

Benitez has only just moved to China and although he would surely jump at the chance to return to England, he has managed two of Arsenal’s rivals in Liverpool and Chelsea. Chris Wilder is a tactical genius, but Arsenal is a different kettle of fish.
Arteta and Ljungberg have no experience as a first-team manager, while Vieira has hardly set the world alight at New York City and Nice. Gerrard is proving to be an excellent manager, but he is a Liverpool legend.
Max Allegri and Luis Enrique are both out of work and the duo would be excellent appointments. But the best choice would be Bournemouth’s Eddie Howe – who fits Arsenal’s style perfectly, and is a good man manager. Howe, 41, is the best of the rest.
