Kenny Miller says Newcastle could sign Rangers star Alfredo Morelos at a cheaper price
that Rangers may be forced to sell Alfredo Morelos for a smaller price this summer after the Colombian’s drop in form since the winter break – which could prove to be a boost for Newcastle.
Morelos, 23, has been in stunning form this season – scoring 29 goals and also laying on 10 assists in 46 league and cup appearances. The Colombia international seemed to have sorted his disciplinary problems out, until December
Indeed, Morelos was been sent off twice in December. Since the winter break, the former HJK Helsinki striker has failed to score in the Scottish Premiership – his last league goal coming on Boxing Day during a win over Kilmarnock.
Morelos has been identified as an improvement on Joelinton, while Steven Gerrard claimed he would not sell Morelos for £50million () in January. But now, Rangers icon Miller reckons Morelos may be sold for a cheaper price.

“The club’s priority now is getting the right price for him. I still think he looks like he probably wants to move; all the signs and noises surrounding him are that he wants to maybe move on and try new thing, which is absolutely fine,”
“I don’t think it’ll be the figures that were being bandied about three or four months ago. It’s just a case of getting the right deal for everyone involved; a deal that suits the player that he’s happy to go along with, and a deal that suits the club.”
TBR’s view – What kind of price would be fair for Morelos?
His form in both the Europa League over the past two seasons – especially against FC Porto and Feyenoord this term – must not be forgotten. Neither the fact that he has netted 77 goals in 137 Rangers matches.
Signed for just £1million, Morelos is due to bring the Gers an enormous profit. But £50million is far too much for the striker. A fee of around £25million may have to be accepted this summer, unless the season returns and he can rediscover his form.
