Kenny McLean pokes fun at Celtic on John McGinn’s Instagram after Hibs draw
Celtic lost more ground in the Scottish Premiership title race to Rangers on Monday night as Hibernian secured a late equaliser at Parkhead – and Norwich City midfielder Kenny McLean has poked fun at Celtic on John McGinn’s Instagram.
The Hoops came into the match having been criticised for their trip to Dubai. A whole 14 players were missing on Monday as they were forced to self-isolate following Christopher Jullien testing positive – while Neil Lennon and John Kennedy were also missing.
Gavin Strachan watched on as Celtic took the lead late on, with in-form David Turnbull curling a brilliant free-kick into the top corner. But Diego Laxalt conceded a late free-kick and Hibs managed to score from it, Kevin Nisbet lashing an effort into the roof of the net.
Aston Villa star John McGinn took to Instagram to praise a former teammate and Hibs icon Lewis Stevenson after the 33-year-old defender came off the bench at half-time to clock up his 500th appearance in all competitions for Jack Ross’ side.
However, Celtic’s draw now sees Neil Lennon’s side sit a whopping 21 points behind Rangers. They had the chance to reduce that total to 19 and boast three games in hand, but the total between the two Old Firm sides remains at 21.
McLean – who has been linked with Rangers in recent months following Norwich’s relegation to the Championship – responded to McGinn’s Instagram by poking fun at Celtic, claiming it was two points dropped for Hibs on Monday evening.
