Kenny McLean and Kevin Thomson react on Instagram, as Rangers star makes return from injury

Rangers star Ryan Jack finally returned to action after nine months on the sidelines – and posted on Instagram after helping Rangers win at Ibrox.

Jack, 29, had last played for Rangers in February – a 4-1 win over Dundee United. But since then, has struggled with a long-term calf injury.

So bad, that the Scotland international was forced to undergo surgery to correct the problem. He was handed 20 minutes against Ross County.

The Gers eased to three points despite conceding twice. Ryan Kent scored on his first start after injury, while Juninho Bacuna got his first for Rangers.

Joe Aribo’s header and an own goal proved too much for County. Posting on Instagram, Jack was delighted to finally make his return for the Gers.

McLean, Thomson react on Instagram: Jack is back for Rangers

It is a big boost for Steven Gerrard’s side, who are yet to reach their brilliant best under the Liverpool legend this season.

However, they do still remain at the top of the Scottish Premiership table – the win keeping them above Celtic for another week.

It remains to be seen when Jack will return to the starting XI but after his cameo role, he now has the international break to work on his fitness.

He will find new signing John Lundstram, and Bacuna – fresh from his first goal – in his way. Aribo, Scott Arfield, Glen Kamara and Steven Davis, too.

Plenty responded on Instagram to his return. McLean and Thomson were just two of many, including Leeds captain Liam Cooper and more.
