Glasgow Rangers midfielder Steven Davis has been praised by Sir Kenny Dalglish for his “exceptional” efforts for the Ibrox club this season.
The 36-year-old has made 47 appearances for the Light Blues in all competitions this term, including 30 in the Scottish Premiership.
Davis has been consistently superb this season and his efforts have gone a long way in helping Steven Gerrard’s side win their long-awaited 55th title.
The Northern Irishman is one of four Rangers players in the running for the Scottish Football Writers’ Association Player of the Year award.
Although Dalglish says he’d give his vote to James Tavernier, he’s also been thoroughly impressed with Davis.
The Liverpool, Scotland and Celtic legend told the : “Davis has also been exceptional. He is 36 but rarely misses a game.
“His energy levels are really impressive. He also appears to be low maintenance for manager, Steven Gerrard.
“But he is also full of quality in what he is able to contribute on the park. He is a true leader.
“He drives Rangers on from midfield, and also allows others to flourish.
“Steven knows he can depend on the Northern Irishman for 90 minutes in every game.”

Rangers are truly lucky to have an incredible player such as Davis in their ranks, one of the most professional, hard-working, driven and talented midfielders in the game.
He’s had so much praise over the years, particularly this past season, and best of all, he’s penned a one-year extension to his contract, so there’ll be more from him next term.
