Kemar Roofe sends Instagram messages to two Leeds United players after Tuesday win
Leeds United secured a 2-0 win over Southampton away from home despite the return of 8000 fans at St. Mary’s, thanks to goals from Patrick Bamford and Tyler Roberts – and Kemar Roofe has sent messages to two Leeds players on Instagram.
The Whites made it three wins in a row and climbed to a lofty eighth in the Premier League table, having previously beaten Tottenham and Burnley. They leapfrogged Everton and Arsenal, despite a poor first-half display on the south coast.
Southampton had chances but Kiko Casilla – who had replaced Illan Meslier – made a number of good saves to deny the likes of Danny Ings, Nathan Tella and Stuart Armstrong. Leeds were much improved in the second half, and it was enough to win.

Rodrigo’s gorgeous pass into Bamford saw the Englishman net his 16th goal of the season – and second in three outings. Then, substitute Roberts finally netted his first Premier League goal – coolly slotting past Alex McCarthy in the Southampton net.
A brilliant win for Leeds – in a match that also saw Gaetano Berardi make his Premier League debut. The Switzerland international suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury at the end of last season – and came on at half-time on Tuesday.
He impressed, as Marcelo Bielsa brought Diego Llorente and Kalvin Phillips off at half-time for Berardi and Pascal Struijk. Rangers ace Roofe, who played for Leeds for three years between, took to Instagram to praise Berardi and Roberts.
