Kemar Roofe admits he would consider Leeds United return

that he would always consider a return to Leeds United, less than one season after leaving the club to join Vincent Kompany’s Anderlecht.

Roofe, 27, clocked up 33 goals in 122 appearances in all competitions for Leeds during a three-year period – in which he also laid on 14 assists. Able to play up front, out wide or in attacking midfield, Roofe was loved by Whites fans.

The former West Bromwich Albion striker joined Anderlecht for a fee of £7million () and has since clocked up just 16 appearances for Anderlecht, given the season has come to a halt – and the striker was injured when joining the club.

Anderlecht’s number 93 told the magazine that he would return to Leeds in the future if the opportunity and timing was right, before explaining how hard it was to leave Elland Road last season – after coming close to Premier League promotion.

“If the opportunity was right, I’d never say no,” , on a Leeds return. “It was massively hard to leave. I was settled and all the fans were incredible, but my contract was up and it’s part of football.”

TBR’s view – Roofe return is perfect for Bielsa

Marcelo Bielsa has shown that he is desperate for new signings to learn the Leeds way before he trusts them in the senior side. It has seen Jean-Kevin Augustin manage only a handful of substitute appearances since joining the club.

But Roofe returning would see him go straight into the side, and that is because Roofe knows exactly what Bielsa requires. Another trait that makes Roofe perfect for Bielsa is his ability to play in numerous positions.

If Leeds gain promotion, Roofe should be a target.
