Kamara is the player Rangers fans thought they were getting in Coulibaly

in the fifth round of the Scottish Cup thanks to Andy Halliday and a four-goal haul from Alfredo Morelos.

Steven Gerrard’s side responded to the drab 0-0 draw with St. Johnstone last weekend by taking out their frustrations on Steve Clarke’s team.

It was an efficient performance for the Gers, who capitalised on the red card shown to Daniel Bachmann.

There were solid performances across the board for Rangers, and there was particular praise from fans after the game for January signing Glen Kamara.

The Finland international was excellent in the middle of the park and helped to drive the team forwards.

The player Coulibaly was supposed to be?

It was a dominating performance from Kamara, the kind of which was seen early on from Lassana Coulibaly by Rangers fans.

Coulibaly excited supporters with some all-action displays following his loan move from Angers and had become something of a fans’ favourite.

But an injury seemed to prevent him from hitting those same early heights, and he has been a bit-part player for the last few months.

It’s been a disappointing decline, but Kamara’s display will certainly have some feeling as though that now doesn’t matter so much.

He appears to be the player Coulibaly promised to be, which plenty of Rangers fans will take given how the Malian started at Ibrox.
