Kalvin Phillips pokes fun at Gabriel Agbonlahor as Leeds United stun Aston Villa
Leeds United have pulled off a stunning result in the Premier League, ending Aston Villa’s unbeaten start to the season at Villa Park.
The Whites secured a 3-0 win over Dean Smith’s side thanks to a sublime Patrick Bamford hat-trick in a stunning second-half display from Marcelo Bielsa’s men.
It was an even more impressive performance considering the fact Leeds were without both captain Liam Cooper and midfield enforcer Kalvin Phillips.
Before the game, with Aston Villa riding high, some were suggesting that Leeds might be in for a rude awakening, especially after their disappointing loss to Wolves.

One such figure was former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor. He had been suggesting that Bielsa’s side, and his coaching, were being blown out of proportion by some members of the press and public.
Which was something not lost on Leeds’ absent England international.
Phillips quickly took to Twitter after the game to snap back at the talkSPORT pundit, and revel in his team-mates’ performance, which, in fairness to Agbonlahor, he appears to be taking with good faith.
Goodnight to all Leeds fans 😂💛💙 sleep tight 😴🥱

Cooper was slightly more magnanimous, instead taking to Twitter to simply praise the display of his team-mate Bamford.
As performances go, that’s up there with the best from the boys! flying ma man. 🙌🏼🔥
— Liam Cooper (@LiamCooper__)
But Leeds fans will likely be more impressed with Phillips’ cheeky response to the former Aston Villa man, who suggested Leeds bubble was about to burst.
