Kalvin Phillips and Tyler Roberts reply to Rangers striker Kemar Roofe’s Instagram post
Rangers striker Kemar Roofe took to Instagram after the summer signing marked his first start for the club with a goal in the Gers’ 2-0 win at Ibrox on Saturday.
Roofe had looked a little rusty during his first couple of appearances following his move to Rangers earlier in the window.

However, Steven Gerrard rewarded the forward’s improvement by handing him a starting spot for the clash with Kilmarnock at the weekend.
And he was vindicated for that decision five minutes into the second-half. Roofe turned home a cross from the left wing to break the deadlock.

It was a goal that would have evoked memories of his best spell at Leeds United. The 27-year-old reacted superbly to a ball fired into the box and turned it home from close range.
So it will come as little surprise that some of his former teammates responded to his post on social media after the game.
Roofe chose to focus on the victory rather than his goal. But his post prompted the likes of Tyler Roberts and Kalvin Phillips to reach out.
And it is clear that neither player – as well as former Whites loanee Izzy Brown – was shocked to see Roofe mark his first start for his new club with a first goal.
Here is what Roofe posted on social media, as well as some of the responses from his former teammates…
