Kalvin Phillips and Adam Forshaw send Instagram posts to on-loan Leeds player
Leeds United decided to send Robbie Gotts on loan to League Two club Salford City in the January window, which is a decision that right now looks a brilliant one.
The 21-year-old spent the first half of the campaign on loan at third-tier club Lincoln City, but a lack of regular starts meant Leeds decided to make him drop down another division.
He’s a versatile youngster that can play several positions like so many of the Leeds first-team squad, but is currently impressing as an attacking midfielder.
The on-loan Whites star has been named in the Sky Bet League Two after his performance on Tuesday night.
Gotts scored during Salford’s emphatic 4-1 victory at home to Cambridge United in a league fixture.
He’s now netted twice in just four games for the League Two side and he’s highly-rated at Elland Road.
Leeds first teamers and have both shown their support for Gotts on their Instagram stories after his team of the week inclusion.
TBR’s View:
If Gotts enjoys a strong end to the season at Salford, then surely there will be every chance he will be training with the Leeds group in pre-season and perhaps a loan further up the football ladder could be in store next year.
His drop down to League Two suggests that perhaps he’s still got a lot to develop in his game and finding a fixed position will help, but he’s undoubtedly a rising talent with big potential.
He’s made three senior appearances for Leeds in the past, but playing regular football for Salford during the next few months will do so much more to help.
