Juventus now turn to middle-man in bid to sign £20m Tottenham player in January

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is being heavily pursued by Juventus, with the Italian club now taking things a step further.

Hojbjerg has been linked with a move to the Turin based club for some time now but given Spurs’ injury problems, had looked set to remain in North London.

The Danish midfielder has been playing his role mainly off the bench this season but will be needed over Christmas as the fixtures pile up.

However, according to a report from , Juventus are not giving up and have now taken another rather drastic step to try and get the deal done.

Juventus look to middle-man to try and sign Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

According to the report from TS, Juventus are super keen on signing Hojbjerg and have now turned to an intermediary to try and get the deal over the line.

It’s suggested that the Italian side have now turned to middle-man Fabrizio De Vecchi in their bid to sign the Dane.

Tottenham want to try and keep Hojbjerg for now but the report claims that the midfielder might be open to the move to Serie A due to his lack of starts at Spurs.

The Premier League side paid Hojbjerg from Southampton and up until this season he’d been a key player.

However, with Ange Postecoglou wanting more attacking output, the Dane has been more limited in terms of his appearances.

Tottenham should only sell if replacement lined up

It’s going to be a trick old month for Spurs to navigate through in January. They do need players to come in but equally, they need to start moving some on as well.

The problem is that things are going well, so it remains to be seen if they’ll risk upsetting the apple-cart mid-season.

Tottenham can improve a lot more, we all know that. But the problem with doing it in January is that things can often take time and it might just disrupt things a touch too much.

However, if they can get £20m back for Hojbjerg and get a replacement, then it might well be a deal that’s best for everyone.
