Juventus have little planned for Adrien Rabiot and Arsenal should rekindle their interest

Juventus have apparently made their minds up about Adrien Rabiot, potentially opening the door for Arsenal to rekindle their past interest in the player.

Rabiot has struggled to make an impact in Turin since moving from PSG. The Frenchman has been in and out of the team and failed to live up to expectations.

, Juventus don’t plan on using Rabiot as a ‘main player’ next season.

Although it is also claimed the club don’t plan on selling him as yet, it surely opens the door up for Arsenal to revisit interest in a player they were keen on landing back in 2019.

Unai Emery was desperate to land Rabiot last summer. However, the PSG man opted to sign with Juventus on a mega-money deal worth. Indeed, Rabiot is on at least £216k-a-week in Turin.

A loan deal for Arsenal makes sense when it comes to Rabiot

Given Juventus have said they aren’t too keen on selling Rabiot, Arsenal could fancy their chances of bringing him in on loan.

Rabiot is still a phenomenal player. He was wanted by most of Europe last season and one disappointing season doesn’t suddenly make him a bad player.

Arsenal, then, should be keen on getting their hands on him. He proved at PSG what he was all about and he could well prove to be the main man in the middle of the Gunners’ midfield.

Midfield presence

Arsenal have lacked someone dominant in the midfield ever since the days of Patrick Vieira and then Gilberto Silva.

Granit Xhaka has never quite done it while Matteo Guendouzi is still a work in progress. However, Rabiot could finally be the one to make the appropriate step up.

His battling and defensive qualities ensure he can dictate games from the middle. During the 2018/19 season, Rabiot averaged just shy of three tackles per game while his pass completion was up over 93%. ()

As Arsenal look to rebuild under Mikel Arteta, the loan signing of Adrien Rabiot might be a shrewd move.
