Justin Kluivert ‘satisfied’ at Roma despite Everton’s reported swap plan

Everton have recently been linked with a move for Roma winger Justin Kluivert as part of any deal that sees Moise Kean heading to the Italian capital.

the idea is the brainchild of both players’ agent Mino Raiola. Kluivert would head to Goodison Park whilst Kean would head to the Stadio Olimpico after a disappointing stint at Everton and link up with his best friend Nicolo Zaniolo.

It would be a great move for Everton, as Kluivert could add some much-needed strength to the club’s fairly weak wide options.

However, recent comments from the player might suggest why there has been little in terms of follow up stories to this development.

The forward, who is the son of Dutch legend Patrick Kluivert, recently when he was asked whether he regretted leaving Ajax for Roma just before their excellent Champions League run last season.

But the younger Kluivert insisted he was happy with his decision and that he remained ‘satisfied’ at Roma.

“I just wanted it, wanted to go on an adventure. Of course I thought for a long time. When AS Roma became concrete and they wanted to pay the transfer amount, which indicated how much they wanted me, I thought, ‘I think AS Roma is a great step.’

“From Ajax to AS Roma is still a nice step for a young football player? So here is a satisfied player.”

It would certainly appear as though the 21-year-old is happy with the Giallorossi and he has been used regularly, so that should not come as a surprise.

Whilst Everton should push on trying to shift Kean to Roma given his burned bridges on Merseyside, it appears he is unlikely to be swapping with another Raiola client.
