‘Just signed the contract’: After Gueye, Romano says Everton have now clinched ‘sublime’ signing
Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Everton have secured the signing of James Garner from Manchester United.
The Toffees have been linked with the Red Devils ace over the past few days.
Discussions have progressed well, with Romano tweeting ‘here we go’ on Garner and Gueye to Everton.
And this evening, the transfer insider provided a further update on Garner to Everton.
The Toffees had already announced Gueye’s return to Goodison Park.
Now, it looks as though an announcement on Garner should arrive in the next hours.
Great transfer business from Everton as they get the signing of another top midfield talent over the line.
Garner has come through the ranks at Old Trafford, making seven appearances for the club.
He also took in three loan stint – one with Watford and two with Nottingham Forest.
Garner helped the Reds earn promotion to the Premier League last season.

This term, Erik ten Hag hasn’t given him any game time, suggesting he sees the 21-year-old as surplus to requirements.
Now, Garner should finally be able to kickstart his career at Everton.
‘Get his team moving forward in the blink of an eye’
In August last year, published an in-depth article on ‘things to know’ about Garner.
His style of play was likened to Paul Pogba and Michael Carrick, as well as speaking about his ‘greatest weapon’ – his passing.
‘Garner’s greatest weapon is his passing,’ they wrote.
‘Calm under pressure, the young midfielder thrives when given the responsibility of setting the tempo.
‘He can pull out some clever passes to find his team-mates in space, but Garner is excellent with cross-field passes to switch the play and get his team moving forward in the blink of an eye.
‘That comfort with the ball at his feet makes Garner a dead-ball specialist.
‘He is sublime from free-kicks and corners and really does not get the assist numbers he deserves.’
