Jurrien Timber says ‘special’ Arsenal player is so different off the pitch
Playing Premier League football is one of the most intense environments you could ever imagine.
Indeed, the stakes are massive, all eyes are on you, and you’re facing off against 11 other world-class operators each and every week.
To be a Premier League footballer, you need to have an edge about you, and, for some players, they transform into different people on the pitch.
Bukayo Saka is one of the nicest people in football, but, on the pitch, Saka transforms into someone else, according to Emile Smith Rowe.
“An amazing person, everyone will tell you, he’s one of the nicest guys in football. But, as soon as he gets on the pitch, he just turns into an animal,” Smith Rowe said.
“It’s just amazing to see. I’m so happy for him. He deserves everything. The stats don’t lie. At the end of the day, it’s the mentality he has as well – always wants to win, always wants to work hard, always wants to improve.
Speaking on , Jurrien Timber has been discussing another Arsenal youngster, Myles Lewis-Skelly, and he says that he also transforms on the pitch, claiming that he turns into a lion.

Myles Lewis-Skelly transforms on the pitch
Timber spoke about Lewis-Skelly and his incredible rise this season.
The defender says Lewis-Skelly is a special player, while he noted that he’s a different person whenever he steps onto the pitch.
“It’s incredible, it’s incredible with him, I want to say he’s a kid, but he’s not a kid anymore, I think he’s so mature, he’s special you know. He does it on the biggest stage, he just does it. Off the pitch he’s so nice and kind, you don’t see the lion that comes out on the pitch, which I love to see, The whole backline the level is insane, we push each other and I’m lucky to be a part of it.”
What is Myles Lewis-Skelly like at Arsenal?
Timber says Lewis-Skelly transforms whenever he steps onto the pitch, and that is very interesting to hear.
Lewis-Skelly has caused a bit of controversy this season with some of his antics on the pitch, particularly when he mocked Erling Haaland’s celebration earlier this season.
However, off the pitch, Lewis-Skelly is actually said to be very reserved and even quiet.
Indeed, according to David Seaman, Lewis-Skelly is actually very quiet.
“Myles Lewis-Skelly. Did you see that, he got booked before he made his Premier League debut,” Seaman said earlier this season.
“It was so funny because I’ve seen him because I go into Arsenal once a week, and I’d go in once a week. He’d come in as a schoolboy and put his uniform back on to go back to school. To see where he is now is so incredible. He’s a really quiet lad, so I don’t know how he got his booking.”
Lewis-Skelly may be quiet behind the scenes, but he’s not scared to make himself known whenever he steps onto the pitch.
One thing is for sure, Lewis-Skelly is an absolute gem of a footballer.
