Jurgen Klopp’s Adam Lallana comments show Liverpool have no plans to offload the midfielder

After an injury-hit start to the season, Adam Lallana has been on the peripheries of the Liverpool squad and had been with a move away from Anfield in January.

However, recent comments from Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp reveal the Reds have no plans to offload the midfielder, with Klopp even claiming Lallana’s fitness is better than ever.

When speaking to , the German manager praised the 30-year-old’s “outstanding shape” and revealed he was close to starting Lallana in recent matches.

“If he could he would play four games a day if possible just from his desire to play football,” Klopp said. “He is really, I would say, at the moment in his best moment, his really best moment since I know him. Just as a person he is fantastic and he will have a big part in our season.”

The strong show of support for Lallana surely puts to bed any rumours surrounding the attacker’s exit, and with Liverpool set to mount a title challenge in the coming months, it appears Klopp sees Lallana as a crucial player in his squad.

Yet the Englishman has started just two Premier League matches all season for the Reds, playing a role in no goals for Liverpool in a mere 202 minutes of league action.

It is clear Liverpool have no intention of letting Adam Lallana go this winter, but the midfielder must step up his performances in order to justify Jurgen Klopp’s faith in him.
