Jurgen Klopp says there are five players at West Ham that he really likes
Liverpool take on West Ham United today, and Jurgen Klopp has heaped praise on some of David Moyes’ players.
The two sides will go into the game on the back of hugely disappointing defeats.
West Ham suffered a 5-2 hammering against Crystal Palace in their last game, while Liverpool were beaten 2-0 by their Merseyside rivals Everton midweek.
Both sides will want to bounce back tonight, and Liverpool, despite their disappointing recent run, will go into the game at the London Stadium today as the favourites.
However, Klopp has named a few West Ham players who could hurt his side, including a ‘super-smart signing’ Moyes pulled off last year.

West Ham United have had an up-and-down season, haven’t they?
The Irons, in their first 22 games of the season in the Premier League, had suffered just six losses, which is not a bad record at all.
However, in their last 15 games, they have managed just three wins, and that has significantly decreased David Moyes‘ chances of getting a new contract.
West Ham are out of the Europa League as well, which is a further blow.
However, Jurgen Klopp seems to rate Moyes very highly, and after heaping praise on the West Ham boss, he named five Hammers players who have caught his eye – including the ‘super-smart signing’ from last summer, James Ward-Prowse.
Speaking ahead of the game, Klopp said, as per : “David is one of the best colleagues. We don’t have time really to spend together but we spoke actually over the years a lot before games or whatever.
“I like him a lot, respect him a lot. I think he is doing an incredible job, to be honest. I like the team they have, offensively really talented, good transfers.
“[Jarrod] Bowen, I’ve said it a couple of times, he’s one of my favourite players, [I] like a lot the way he developed since he came from Hull. [Mohammed] Kudus, super-talented, [Lucas] Paqueta, Michail Antonio, top striker. And when Bowen plays up there then they find another solution, these kind of things.
“[James] Ward-Prowse, super-smart signing for West Ham, I have to say. And then all the other guys settled around.
“I think I heard once in a press conference of David when he said, ‘What do you want us to achieve?’ There are six teams in the league that have to be in this moment in time above West Ham – not all of them are but actually I would say they have to.
“That means seventh is pretty much the best you can achieve, and they did that and better now for a few years. I really think he is doing a ridiculously good job there, to be honest.”
Worrying James Ward-Prowse stat for West Ham fans
West Ham signed James Ward-Prowse from Southampton last summer, and everyone in the game agreed that it was a great signing.
The Englishman had a very good start to the season.
He scored two goals and provided three assists in his first five Premier League games. He picked up four assists in his first four Europa League games too. Alan Shearer went as far as calling him ‘world-class‘.
However, just when everyone expected Ward-Prowse to kick on and have an amazing season, the former Saints star’s numbers took a big hit.
Since the turn of 2024, Ward-Prowse has three goals and an assist to his name in 21 appearances.
That is not a great record at all, and if you’re a West Ham fan, you have every reason to be worried about the main man in the middle of your park.
