Jurgen Klopp says ‘massive’ Liverpool player is back from injury to face Sheffield United

The Premier League run-in is in full swing, and tonight it’ll be Liverpool’s turn to stake another claim for the title.

We’ve been spoilt with midweek Premier League action this week, and Jurgen Klopp’s Reds are up against Sheffield United on Thursday night.

Arsenal and Manchester City have already played their midweek games, and Liverpool have been knocked off the top spot, but can return to the summit if they win at Anfield.

Klopp spoke to the press on Wednesday afternoon, where he provided updates on his squad’s fitness.

There are some good news on that front, with Curtis Jones and Andrew Robertson set to be available to face the Yorkshire side.

Wataru Endo picked up a knock last week, so he faces a late fitness test against the Blades, Klopp told the Liverpool .

Meanwhile, the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alisson Becker, Stefan Bajcetic and Diogo Jota are on the right track.

What has Jurgen Klopp said about Liverpool squad ahead of Sheffield United clash?

“Curtis is in training, full training, and is in contention,” said Klopp. “Yeah, that’s it pretty much.

“The other boys [are] doing well. Diogo and Trent are together in a group, which helps both.

“Ali is with the goalkeeper coaches, so I just see them through the fence, but that looks good as well.

“I think in his mind as well, next week parts of team training.”

He later added: “Curtis is back, that doesn’t mean he can play 90 minutes, he can play a few minutes.”

On the subject of Endo, Klopp said: “Wataru, what a player, what a guy.

“He got a knock in the last game, so we have to see for tomorrow what we can do with him.”

And when asked if Robertson would return, Klopp stated: “Yeah, and very important, by the way.”

With the run-in now in full swing, it’ll be so important for Liverpool to have as much squad availability as possible.

Robertson’s return is huge for the Reds, while Jones’ availability is also important, although it looks as though he’ll be eased back into action after his ankle injury.

Jones is a ‘‘ for Liverpool, so let’s hope he comes through the Sheff Utd test unscathed and he can then start featuring regularly in the run-in.
