Jurgen Klopp says Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho is a ‘world-class’ talent

Liverpool meet Manchester United today in the big Super Sunday showdown and Jurgen Klopp has been singing the praises of Old Trafford newbie, Jadon Sancho.

Sancho signed for United in a mega-money deal in the summer. The Red Devils paid a £73m for the England winger. After impressing for Dortmund for a number of seasons, United finally got their man after a number of transfer windows.

However, Sancho hasn’t lit up Old Trafford as yet. In fact, he has a goal this season and has often played second-fiddle behind the likes of Mason Greenwood.

But Klopp, speaking ahead of the game this week, believes he has seen enough of Sancho to know he will succeed in Manchester.

“Jadon Sancho is a world-class talent, definitely. He has all the things you need to become really one of the best players in the world in the future – that’s how it is. But he’s still very young,” Klopp told his .

“At Dortmund they were full of praise for him. Rightfully so. I saw a lot of games of him playing outstandingly well. And now it’s the normal situation where people lose patience quickly.”

Sancho could well get the nod today as Bruno Fernandes could miss out through injury. However, Ole Solskjaer will want balance and experience in his team, and may well leave Sancho on the bench for Liverpool.

For £73m, you might expect a player to make more of an immediate impact at a football club. But for whatever reason, it’s just not quite happened for Sancho as yet.

Whether his in and out sort of appearances are hindering him, or whether he’s still suffering a bit of a hangover from the Euros, we don’t know.

However, patience is needed. Sancho is a young player and as Klopp says, is a world-class talent on his day.
