Jurgen Klopp has praised qualities of Liverpool star Xherdan Shaqiri
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has given a glowing verdict on Xherdan Shaqiri, as well as claiming there is more to come from him.
Shaqiri, 28, is not a regular in the Reds side and has only played nine games in all competitions this season.
But the £80,000-a-week star () was drafted into the team in the previous game for his first Premier League start of the campaign.
The attacking midfielder started in the goalless draw against Manchester United and he’ll hope it’s the start of more regular minutes.
He is a left-footed creator that can play in the number 10 position or on the wing and his promotion to the XI comes at a time where the team has been struggling for goals.
Klopp has spoken very highly of the Switzerland international ahead of Thursday night’s league fixture against Burnley
“Shaq’s big strength is obviously passing, little movements, creativity, vision. Really good last pass, is a good connector, lot of stuff is really good. That’s why he was in the lineup [against Man United],”
“I think we had two players on the pitch who didn’t play a lot of games in recent weeks, with Thiago [Alcantara] and Shaqiri. They both did really well. But, of course, there is much more to come.

TBR’s View:
The likelihood is that Shaqiri wont establish himself as a nailed-on starter, but he’s got to make the most of his opportunity with others around him enduring a rare quiet patch in front of goal.
He’s certainly a talented individual capable of something special and his main problem will be overcoming rustiness.
The upcoming game against Burnley could be his type of match to bring some extra creativity to proceedings.
