Jurgen Klopp confirms Liverpool teenager Rhian Brewster will make first-team debut against Barcelona
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Rhian Brewster is “guaranteed” to make his first-team debut in tonight’s Champions League clash with Barcelona, .
With Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino missing through injury, this has handed an opportunity to Liverpool teenager Brewster.
Daniel Sturridge has been filling in up front while Divock Origi came on as a substitute and scored Liverpool’s late winner against Newcastle United last weekend.
But with one eye on next Sunday’s Premier League finale, where Liverpool need to win and hope Manchester City slip up to claim the title, Klopp is considering his fringe options.
: “He’s ready. There is a big chance. It’s nearly sure. It’s guaranteed.”

Brewster has only just returned from a long-term injury which has prevented him from making his debut until now.
The 19-year-old is highly-rated and has been a part of Liverpool’s U23 set-up for a while now. But it looks like he will get his chance to play first-team football imminently.
Some fans may have concerns about Brewster’s fitness after a lengthy lay-off. But Klopp has eased those worries by confirming that Brewster is in top shape.
: “Rhian has been in just outstanding shape for the last three or four weeks, but the other players were there as well. It’s just good so now it’s really nice in a difficult situation that we can give him that spot in the squad and have him there to bring on as a striker.”
The England youth striker won the Golden Boot as England’s U17 team claimed the World Cup title for their age group in 2017. But now it is time for him to show what he can do for Liverpool.
