Jurgen Klinsmann says he would ‘love’ Tottenham to re-sign attacker

that he is desperate to see Tottenham re-sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid this summer, with the Welsh superstar being linked with an exit in the coming weeks.

Bale, 31, is likely to leave Real in the coming weeks – if any interested parties can afford to match his astronomical wages. He has been left on the sidelines by Zinedine Zidane of late, scoring just three goals in 20 appearances.

that the 79-time Wales international wants a return to Spurs this summer – with Real ready to accept offers of £18million for Bale, who as per the report, is earning a whopping £295,000 a week.

Tottenham icon Klinsmann was asked about Bale’s future at Real Madrid and as a supporter of Spurs, the Germany legend stated he would love to see Bale back at the north London club – where he previously played 203 times.

“Time goes by so fast as a player and you cannot waste it,” . “The most important thing for every player is to be on the field and to play. When this doesn’t work out, come to a conclusion and consider a move.

“Money doesn’t matter anymore. Money has no influence on that decision right now that Gareth has to make. A player like him, we would like to admire him week in, week out on the television.

“As a Tottenham fan, I would love him to come back to Spurs.”

TBR’s view – Should Tottenham bring back Bale?

Without a doubt, Bale would be a stunning signing. Bringing him back to Spurs would galvanise the club, it would nearly guarantee a return to the top four, and it would give a Jose Mourinho side much more attacking bite.

But financially, if Spurs are to match his wages at Real, the entire club would need restructuring. Harry Kane is believed to be earning just £200,000 a week, as is Tanguy Ndombele, and the duo are the club’s highest earners.

If Bale signs for almost £300,000 a week, Kane and others would be asking for a pay rise. In a summer after a financially-touch health crisis, can Spurs afford to bring in Bale? Probably not.
