Jurgen Klinsmann delivers verdict on Tottenham’s Premier League title chances
that he believes Tottenham Hotspur and Jose Mourinho are still in with a chance of winning the Premier League title despite slipping to seventh place, after a poor run of recent results.
Spurs made an excellent start to Premier League life, losing just one of their opening 11 games and sitting at the top of division on numerous occasions. However, a loss to Liverpool – which came in the last minute – was followed by defeat to Leicester.
Spurs failed to hold on to a win over Wolves – meaning they have now gone four Premier League games without a win, claiming just two points from a possible 12. They now sit in seventh, with the pandemic cancelling Wednesday’s game against Fulham.
Ex-Tottenham player Klinsmann has commented on whether Tottenham are still in with a shout and despite a poor run of form and the form of the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and others – he still thinks Spurs are in with a shout.
“They are still there,” . “It is a crucial time for how they get through winter, and then look at how things will look like. Mourinho is in known for being strategic, don’t write them off. They are still contenders.”

TBR’s view – Tottenham can resurrect form, but they need to do it quickly
When Spurs are playing well, Mourinho and his counter-attacking style is excellent. When they lose, the criticis are flung at his door for failing to get forward on a more regular basis. They have the players to correct their recent form.
What Spurs need to do is get a win under their belt and sort out some issues in the transfer market. They need a player like Marcel Sabitzer, but they also need to offload players that continue to put the club in the spotlight – Dele Alli, for example.
Spurs have the players, the managers, the stadium and the backing to mount a challenge. A small blip does not affect their campaign, but they must make sure it only lasts as a small blip.
