Jurgen Klinsmann comments on future of Tottenham striker Harry Kane

Jurgen Klinsmann has given his verdict on the future of Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

Aged 27, the England captain is at the peak of his powers right now, and delivering top-class performances on a regular basis.

His form with Spurs this campaign has been electric, scoring 26 goals and setting up 16 assists across all competitions so far.

The centre-forward’s recent comments have had plenty discussing his club future, after he said () he can’t think about transfer speculation right now, but that he will see what happens in the summer regarding his situation.

Ex-Spurs forward Klinsmann believes it’s natural for a “player of his category” to be desperate to win trophies, something which has escaped him so far at Spurs.

“He has a good feeling for the probability of winning trophies with Spurs, and then he’ll make up his mind. I think he has to because he’s 28 this summer. Maybe he wins his first trophy with the European Championship in England this summer,” Klinsmann told .

“Definitely, [leaving] is going through your mind, it’s an automatic thing. As a player of his category, you badly want to collect trophies as many as you can. Having those thoughts now is a totally normal thing. It could be a surprise this summer when he comes out and says ‘I’m moving on’.”

TBR’s View:

If Spurs were to beat Manchester City in April’s Carabao Cup final, perhaps rumours over Kane’s future would begin to quiet a little.

It’s remarkable that a player of his ability is yet to win silverware in his career, and many feel he’s now at an age where he could have one big transfer move in him.

He’s stayed loyal to Spurs after coming through the academy, scoring 215 goals in 327 senior appearances for them.

But it seems like this summer may be a defining moment in his career.
