Julen Lopetegui reveals whether Kurt Zouma will actually leave West Ham this summer
Kurt Zouma has been linked with an exit from West Ham all summer, with the Frenchman yet to make the move away from east London.
TBR understands that Zouma is in talks to leave West Ham having already seen a move to Shabab Al-Ahli collapse due to a failed medical, with the Irons determined to offload the French defender three years from the centre-back joining for £30m.
With Julen Lopetegui intent on offloading Zouma, there’s a real chance that the former Chelsea star could be on the move soon if an agreement can reached with another club, with all parties seemingly keen on a transfer to go through.
And the West Ham manager has now revealed whether Zouma will actually leave this summer.
Lopetegui confirms Zouma is in talks to leave West Ham
Speaking to the press ahead of the first Premier League weekend of the new season, the Basque coach revealed that Zouma is in talks with other teams to discuss a transfer away from West Ham.
Lopetegui said when asked about Zouma’s pending exit: “The first thing is that Kurt is a fantastic person and a very good player. He’s trying to choose his future and we are going to wait. He’s trying to talk with other teams right now, let’s see what is going to happen. We have big respect for him.”
With West Ham signing Max Kilman and Jean-Clair Todibo this summer, it’s clear that Lopetegui is looking to overhaul his defensive options this summer with Zouma set to leave in the coming weeks.
And with the West Ham manager confirming that Zouma is in talks to leave the Irons, a deal could soon be reached with a club that will see the French international depart the London Stadium after three years.

West Ham have undergone a massive summer of change under Lopetegui, and with Zouma in talks to leave the east London side, the Hammers are making the right call in deciding to sell the defender in this window.
Zouma has been a good performer for West Ham since arriving from Chelsea three years ago, yet it’s clear that Lopetegui wants to take his new team in a new direction, with the Frenchman one of the players who needs to be cut as a result.
