Jude Bellingham says £37m player Liverpool want to sign is actually more talented than Kylian Mbappe
Jude Bellingham was once a big target for Liverpool.
The Englishman was linked with several clubs when he was getting ready to leave Borussia Dortmund in 2023, and there was a chance that he could return to England.
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool were very keen to sign Bellingham, but the talented midfielder decided to snub them and joined Real Madrid instead.
Now, the 21-year-old has delivered his verdict on another player who Liverpool have been interested in signing for a long, long time.
What Jude Bellingham has just said about Liverpool target Rodrygo Goes?
While Liverpool were held to a 2-2 draw against Aston Villa on Wednesday night, Real Madrid battered Manchester City in the Champions League.
The Galacticos secured a 3-2 lead over Pep Guardiola’s side in the first leg – Bellingham scored a 92nd-minute winner at the Etihad then.
In the return leg at the Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid showed why they are the greatest team in the history of the Champions League. They smashed City 3-1 thanks to a hat-trick from Kylian Mbappe.
After the game, in an interview on CBS Sports, Bellingham was asked about Rodrygo Goes, and the Englishman claimed that he is the most talented player in the squad ahead of superstars like himself, Mbappe and Vinicius Jr.
Bellingham said: “Rodrygo, so underrated, you know? For me, he’s probably the most talented and gifted player in the squad.
“I think the things he can do with the football… We’ll be messing around and he’ll flick the ball up somehow and you’re like: “How’d he do that?” I’m trying to do that I’m twisting my ankles and everything like that. It’s a pleasure to play with both of them. You put them in positions where they can affect the games and they will win it for you.
“I think Rodrygo, another thing to mention, is that he’s the one who sacrifices the most, really. It’s clear that his favourite position is on the left. It’s important to note that he does a lot for the team defensively on the right side, which isn’t his favourite.
“But, he never complains, he just gets on with it and that’s the way we have to continue.”
Liverpool’s interest in Rodrygo
Liverpool have wanted to sign Rodrygo since he was a teenager at Santos in Brazil.
Real Madrid beat the Reds and signed the attacker in a £37 million deal () in 2018, and he has become a star for them since.
Liverpool’s interest in Rodrygo, however, has not gone away.
TBR Football revealed in September last year that Liverpool enquired about signing Rodrygo from Real Madrid in the summer window.
Just a few weeks later, TBR revealed that Rodrygo’s camp are aware that Liverpool still want to sign him.
However, the Brazilian has shown no interest in leaving the Bernabeu, and he intends to stay there as long as he is wanted by the Spanish club.
