Of course, Mikel Arteta will undoubtedly be cheering his home nation on but there are also a host of players who have been linked with a move to Arsenal set to feature.

Indeed, the likes of Eberechi Eze, Marc Guehi, Mikel Merino and Nico Williams could all play in Sunday’s final in Berlin, with the quartet reportedly on the Gunners’ radar this summer.

And one of Arsenal’s key transfer targets has received huge praise from former Chelsea and Manchester United star Juan Mata.

Mata raves about Arsenal target Nico Williams

It’s no secret that Arteta is eyeing attacking reinforcements this summer and Williams reportedly features high on the Arsenal boss’ wish list.

The Athletic Bilbao star has dazzled at Euro 2024, leading to interest from a host of top European clubs.

Now, Mata has become the latest to sing the winger’s praises while speaking on , suggesting that even Rio Ferdinand wouldn’t have been keen on facing Williams.

“He has been very, very dangerous in this Euros,” the former United man said. “I mean, Rio (Ferdinand) is a defender. I don’t think he will like to be one-against-one with him, he is so quick.

“He is probably the quickest in the team. He is so direct. He just puts the ball there and beats you. He has also improved a lot in his decision-making, which is difficult when you go at such speed. Very good, and he is only what 21, 22.”
