Journalist wowed by England player who’s ‘got the lot’ that Tottenham want to buy

Tottenham Hotspur return to action on the weekend following the first international break of the season.

It is now full focus on the Premier League campaign at Tottenham with Ange Postecoglou‘s side in need of a bounce back performance on the weekend against Arsenal.

Having lost for the first time against Newcastle United, Spurs have only taken five points from their opening three games.

There may well be a feeling among the supporters that more could have been done in the summer to strengthen Postecoglou’s side.

And there was one player who Spurs are believed to be showing an interest in who has been in action on Tuesday night for England.

Although Tottenham have shown a lot of interest in Eberechi Eze over the summer, it was another player of interest that really impressed at Wembley.

Tottenham target impresses for England on Tuesday

Tottenham are said to have been closely watching Angel Gomes who is currently playing his football in France with Lille.

The midfielder now has just one-year remaining on his current deal with the Ligue 1 side and has seriously impressed during his time in France.

And those displays have been rewarded with his first call up for the England senior side following Lee Carsley’s appointment as the interim manager.

Having played under the lights at Wembley on Tuesday night, reporter Adrian Durham admitted he was wowed with what he saw from Gomes.

“Angel gomes, wow! Was nine and a half out of ten. I’ve actually given him nine out of ten, but he was that little bit better than everybody else. So nine and a half out of ten,” said Durham.

“Just looks so comfortable. and what’s not to love about the black boots? Honestly, if you’re wearing black boots, you’re going to be an absolute star.

“He’s diminutive, it doesn’t matter. He doesn’t care. He doesn’t get beaten up off the ball or beaten up on the ball, he’s so good and his passing range is good as well.

“I think he’s got the lot to make that position, his own for England for a long, long time, terrific performance Wembley in his first start for England as well also.”

Having previously been released by Manchester United a matter of years ago, Gomes is now making a real impression.
