Journalist suggests Tottenham could sign £10m midfielder as well as Antonio Nusa
Tottenham Hotspur could be lining up an interesting signing before the end of the January transfer window.
Antonio Nusa could sign for Spurs in a deal that would see him link-up with the squad in the summer after being loaned back to Club Brugge.
Tottenham have done plenty of deals in this manner in recent years with the likes of Destiny Udogie and Pape Matar Sarr joining in similar circumstances.
Nusa could be through the door soon at Spurs, and according to Dean Jones there could be another deal lined up in the same way.
Indeed, speaking on the , Jones has suggested that Adam Wharton could be signed by Spurs in similar fashion for around £10m.

Wharton could follow Nusa
Jones shared his verdict on Spurs’ potential business.
“I do have a bit to add on that (midfield) front. Conor Gallagher is the one that is constantly talked about but no progress. A couple of deals worth keeping an eye on are Adam Wharton at Blackburn Rovers, could get him for around £10m, and given they’re looking at Nusa, I wonder if they are also tempted to go early for Wharton, but again, that would be one for the summer, and they’re also looking at Ederson at Atalanta,” Jones said.
Could work well
Wharton is said to be a target for Spurs, and getting this deal done early could work well for all parties.
It would allow Wharton time to get his head around the move and prepare himself mentally over the next six months to join a huge club, while Tottenham would be saving themselves a job in the summer and would also have Wharton through the door as soon as possible to play a part in pre-season.
These pre-agreement deals aren’t the most exciting as they go through as there’s no immediate benefit, but, once the summer rolls around, they do often start to pay dividends.
