Journalist shocked after what he’s been told about Marc Guehi and Newcastle ahead of deadline day

Newcastle United haven’t been all that busy in this summer transfer window.

The Magpies made a few deals prior to the Profit and Sustainability deadline, but, since then, there has been radio silence in terms of incomings at St James’ Park.

Of course, there have been plenty of rumours, and Marc Guehi has been strongly linked with Newcastle recently.

Speaking on the , Dean Jones has been discussing Newcastle’s links with Guehi, and he says that someone at Newcastle recently told him that this deal could be done on deadline day.

Marc Guehi to Newcastle could happen on deadline day

Jones shared what he knows about Guehi and Newcastle.

“Guehi could be the one to look out for, depending on when you’re listening to this that could’ve come to some sort of resolution. Palace were adamant that this was not going to drag into the final three days of the window, but I spoke to someone close to Newcastle last night and they said ‘yeah, we’ll probably sign him on deadline day’, and I was like ‘surely not.’”

Crystal Palace’s disastrous transfer window

Newcastle could sign Marc Guehi on deadline day, and if that is the case, Crystal Palace need to have a trick up their sleeve.

Simply put, this transfer window has been a disaster on the Palace front.

The Eagles have already sold Joachim Andersen and Michael Olise, and to let Guehi go on top of that would be a disaster.

Of course, Palace still have time to get some replacements through the door, but only a few days left to go in the transfer window, they need to get a move on if they’re going to adequately replace their star players.

Newcastle might finally get Guehi through the door at the last minute, and while that’s great move for the Magpies, it’s an absolute nightmare for Palace.
