Journalist shares contrasting news he’s been told about Martin Odegaard’s injury at Arsenal
Arsenal have been sweating over Martin Odegaard’s injury situation after the knock he picked up whilst away on international duty.
The North London derby has come at the worst possible time for Arsenal and Mikel Arteta, with a number of absences to contend with.
Declan Rice is the obvious absence after his red card against Brighton.
Martin Odegaard can now be added to the list after picking up an ankle injury against Austria, with the midfielder set to be out for a minimum of three weeks.
The fact that Manchester City and Tottenham are up next for Arsenal is terrible timing, but it will give Arteta a good feeling as to which players are willing to step up in the big games.
Sadly, if one journalist’s report is true, the Gunners could be without Odegaard for even longer…

James Benge shares what he’s been told by people who know about Martin Odegaard’s situation at Arsenal
Interestingly, there is a suggestion that Arsenal could end up blocking players from going on international duty in the future.
But, it’s too late now as Odegaard looks set for a spell on the sidelines.
James Benge had a bit of an update for Arsenal fans when speaking on Charles Watts’ YouTube channel.
“You know we are talking three weeks at a minimum. Talking to people that know I mean they were pretty confident that there wasn’t a break or anything like that.
“But even they were talking, you know, something that maybe runs out beyond four weeks. Now, once you get to that four-week mark, you’re into the next international break.”
Which games would Odegaard potentially miss?
Well, first up you’ve got the North London derby with Tottenham welcoming Arsenal on Sunday.
Atalanta in Arsenal’s first Champions League game will come too soon, as that’s set for next Tuesday.
After that is the crunch Premier League match against defending champions Manchester City, which could be an even bigger game if Spurs manage to get one over on the Gunners the week prior.
Then there are fixtures against Bolton Wanderers, Leicester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Southampton before the international break.
Bournemouth on the 19th of October could be a game to target for Odegaard, which is around five weeks from now.
