Journalist shares what Leeds are now expected to do after seeing £13m Gustavo Hamer bid rejected by Sheffield United

Leeds United have made a late bid to sign Sheffield United midfielder Gustavo Hamer and journalist Adam Pope has now shared their next steps.

Reports tonight have confirmed that .

That bid, as expected, was turned down by Sheffield United, who only paid around £15m to sign Hamer last summer.

Chris Wilder has spoken in his press conference today about a bid coming in for a player being a million miles off the valuation. The expectation is that he meant this bid for Hamer.

And now, Yorkshire Post journalist Adam Pope has shared what Leeds are now thinking with Hamer.

Leeds to move on from Gus Hamer after bid rejected

Taking to X to provide an update on the situation with Hamer, Pope has said that Leeds will now likely move on from the Blades ace.

Leeds are scrambling around to sign new players after losing a host of their top players this summer.

The Whites have seen Geo Rutter, Crysencio Summerville and Archie Gray all leave for big money.

They did add Largie Ramazani last week, but a move for Manor Solomon appears to be on the bring of falling through.

Leeds trying to cause unrest

This has been quite the summer to be a Leeds fan.

The outgoings have decimated the squad and now, there seems to be a real issue in them getting their top targets over the line.

With this one and Gus Hamer, this looks like a way for Leeds to try and unsettle the Sheffield United ace.

The Blades will see no real reason to sell Hamer and with a takeover pending, a low ball offer will have gone down like a lead balloon.

In a way, it’s probably better Leeds do move on.
