Journalist shares what he’s heard about Jarrad Branthwaite’s potential move from Everton to Man United
Jarrad Branthwaite to Manchester United has been one of the most heavily-discussed transfers of this summer transfer window.
The Red Devils have made a bid for the Everton defender this summer, but, as of yet, there has been very little progress.
Indeed, United have struggled to agree a deal to sign Branthwaite from Everton, and according to Ben Jacobs, speaking on , getting a deal done for the centre-back isn’t going to be easy.
Indeed, Jacobs says that Branthwaite’s pricetag may now even be above £70m now as Everton have no reason to sell.

Everton may not sell Jarrad Branthwaite for £70m
Jacobs shared what he knows about Branthwaite and United’s interest.
“The interest in Jarrad Branthwaite hasn’t gone away. At the moment, Manchester United don’t have the £70m+ that Everton require, and Everton may not even sell Branthwaite for £70m,” Jacobs said.
“The position is ‘we don’t want to sell.’ But if the offer is too good to turn down United would succeed and they would likely have to pay over the odds. Branthwaite to United isn’t looking likely at this stage.”
Manchester United could still get Jarrad Branthwaite
Jacobs says that a deal for Branthwaite is unlikely, but, the Red Devils are still interested in the Everton star.
United would have to pay over the odds to get Branthwaite, but that’s never stopped them before.
This is the same team that just paid for an 18-year-old with one year left on his deal, while they also forked out £85m a piece for and .
United have never been afraid to pay over the odds to get their top targets, and it’s not unrealistic to suggest that they could do the same again for Branthwaite considering how strong these links have been.
This remains a situation worth keeping a close eye on.
