Transfer reporter Michael Bridge has revealed that Arsenal technical director Edu Gaspar has told Manchester City star Gabriel Jesus th🧔at he will be the Gunners’ new number nine if he joins them this summer.

Mikel Arteta’s side narrow🌃ly missed out on the Champions League last season, and they will need an✅ excellent summer transfer window to make sure that doesn’t happen again in the next campaign.

Alexandre Lacazette is set to leave the club as a free agent at the end of next month. Eddie Nketiah was expected to follow him, but it now looks like the young Englishman has changed his mind and will sign a new deal at the Emirates.

Arsenal have been linked with a whole host of strikers over the last few months, but if recent reports are to be believed, City star 💯Jesus is Arteta’s number one target this summer.

Edu has told Gabriel Jesus he’ll be Arsenal’s number ni🃏ne if he joins

Sky Sports transfer𓆉 reporter Bridge was asked about the rumours linking Jesus to a move to the Emirates this summer.

The journalist🌠 told : “Gabriel Jesus has been told by Edu that he will be Arsenal’s number nine.

“I’d imagine City will💦 entertain the likes of Tottenham being involved in a bit of a bidding war and Tottenham have that carrot of Champions League football over Arsenal.

“But, Arsenal would stress that Jesus ꦺwould be a central part, whereas you can’t convince anyone of that﷽ (at Tottenham) when you’ve got Harry Kane.”

Jesus will enter the final year of his contract this summer, but Manchester City are not making it easy 🐬for Arsenal, Tottenham or any other club who are keen to sign him.

Reports have revealed that the Premier League champions are looking for a fee in the region of £51.5 million to let him go, which does ♓seem a bit steep considering that he only has 13 months left on his deal.

Jesus really would be a fantastic signing for Arsenal. The 25-year-old, branded as ‘incredible’ by Pep Guardiola, is perfect for Arteta’s system, and the Spaniard knows him really well thanks to their time 𝐆together at Manchester City a few years ago.

With Alexandre Lacaze♒tte set to leave soon, the number nine shirt at Arsenal will be up for grabs. If Jesus does move to the Emirates, he will likely take over that shirt for next season.
