Journalist shares the text a transfer source has just sent him about £15m Tottenham player

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been linked with a move away from Tottenham.

The Danish midfielder is one player that Spurs could sell in order to raise some cash this month as they target other midfielders such as Conor Gallagher.

Speaking on the , Dean Jones has shared an update on Hojbjerg’s future, and on the podcast he read out a text he received from a transfer source about the man.

This source says that Hojbjerg will struggle to get a move to Juventus this month as the Italian giants are more in the market for an attack-minded midfield player.

Hojbjerg to Juventus unlikely

Jones shared what he’s been told about the Tottenham ace.

“He says on Hojbjerg, ‘Juve want to strengthen the midfield with experienced players and they are looking for favourable solutions,’ He thinks that the Hojbjerg deal will be difficult to do on loan and then I had a chat with him further down and he says that they’re looking for a more attack-minded midfielder,” Jones said.

Difficult

It’s difficult to market a player like Hojbjerg to other clubs in a January transfer window.

In January, teams aren’t looking to build-out their squads, they’re looking for difference-makers, and, with all due respect, Hojbjerg isn’t that kind of player.

Of course, that isn’t to say that he isn’t a very talented footballer, but he’s not going to take a top side to the next level, nor is he going to single-handedly transform a mid-table side with his style of play.

He’s not the archetypal January target, and he may have to wait until the summer window to find a new club where he can fit in and be a part of a long-term plan.

Hojbjerg probably won’t be at Spurs for much longer, but a summer departure may be more likely than a January move.
