Journalist says Tottenham have now held talks with Christian Eriksen
Dean Jones that Tottenham Hotspur have already held preliminary talks with Christian Eriksen regarding an emotional return this summer.
Eriksen remains right on Spurs’ wishlist after an amazing return to football with Brentford. He helped the Bees largely coast towards a second year in the Premier League.

Thomas Frank’s side now face a fight to keep him. And one of the main players in the battle for his signature is his former club, Tottenham.
Reports recently claimed that Spurs are ready to break away from their transfer policy of targeting younger players to bring Eriksen back. Of course, they are also closing on signing Ivan Perisic.

And it seems that Tottenham have already made progress on a move for the Dane. Jones has now suggested that discussions have already taken place with Spurs looking to learn what Brentford have offered the attacking midfielder.
“In terms of Christian Eriksen, it is definitely still something that’s on their horizon,” .
“There were new talks last week, just to check where his mindset was at and seeing what Brentford’s offer was to him.
“Tottenham definitely want Eriksen back, especially now they have got Champions League football. Usually you say no going back, but with Eriksen that is not how they’re thinking.”
Tottenham have already held Eriksen talks
Eriksen faces a tough decision. He will surely feel a sense of loyalty to Brentford, who gave him the platform to prove that he is still very much one of the most talented players around.
But he will know more than most that careers can be short. He is now 30. And he may not get many more offers to go and play in the Champions League.
The club presenting him with the opportunity to go and play in Europe’s premier competition is one where he is loved. He knows the manager. And many of the players remain from his time at Tottenham.
In truth, as a neutral, it just remains absolutely brilliant to discuss where Eriksen’s career will continue given what happened last summer. Hopefully, we have many more years of watching the ‘‘ magician pull strings on the pitch.
