Journalist says Tottenham have already made bid for Memphis Depay
Tottenham Hotspur have made an offer to sign Memphis Depay from Barcelona this summer, according to journalist Gerard Romero (via ).
Depay has had a mixed first season at the Nou Camp. Of course, he arrived at a time when Barca found themselves in real turmoil.

He has since gone on to score 10 goals in 19 La Liga games this season. However, he failed to find the back of the net while the Catalan giants were in the Champions League.
And he has been out for much of the last few months with injury. The last time he completed 90 minutes came back in Barcelona’s first game in December.

It would appear that he could now be offered the chance to leave after just one year.
Journalist Romero has claimed on Twitch that Depay has been offered the opportunity to return to the Premier League. And he went on to reveal that the team who made the offer is Tottenham.
Pursuing Depay could be a shrewd move from Tottenham
Of course, much may depend on how Xavi views Depay’s role in his plans moving forward. Barcelona have done brilliantly while he has been sidelined and finding his way back into the team.
And interestingly, he only signed a when he joined from Lyon. So he is approaching the final year of his deal with Barca.
Tottenham may perhaps sense that they could therefore, seal a bargain by pursuing Depay. It would certainly be a massive statement of intent. He has previously been labelled a ‘‘ talent.
He is someone who can play quite comfortably up front, or in a wide left role. And he may feel that he has unfinished business in the Premier League after struggling with Manchester United.
He has now had a handful of injury issues in the last few years. But it would still be an exciting move if Tottenham could indeed bring him back to England.
