Journalist says there’s a real chance Arsenal could bid for ‘world class’ £100m player

According to an Arsenal insider, there’s a real chance Arsenal could launch a proposal for one of the most sought-after midfielders in the Premier League.

Mikel Arteta and sporting director Edu Gaspar will be hard at work identifying a number of targets this summer transfer window.

Riccardo Calafiori is set to be the first addition following his impressive Euro 2024 with Italy and now they’re looking at Spain’s Nico Williams.

As well as those two deals, there is also a genuine belief that Arsenal could launch a bid for a Premier League star later in the window.

Arsenal could bid for Bruno Guimaraes

Team News and Tix revealed on X spaced that it wouldn’t be surprising if the club revisited a move for Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes, labelled as ‘world class’ per , later in the window.

“It wouldn’t surprise me if Arsenal went back in for Bruno Guimarães later in the window,” the journalist said, via .

Guimaraes’ £100m release clause expired last month but that hasn’t stopped Manchester City from retaining their interest.

It seems that’s the same for The Gunners, who would look to strike a deal for less than the release clause.

Joshua Kimmich also a possibility

Team News and Tix also appeared to hint at Joshua Kimmich as a possible signing this summer when discussing the unidentified German footballer who has been heavily rumoured with a move to North London.

“The mystery German footballer that Arsenal are pursuing is a player who can play in multiple positions.”

Kimmich can operate as a right-back and in multiple positions across the midfield, so he matches the description.

In other news, here is the real reason why Riccardo Calafiori has chosen to join Arsenal over Premier League rivals Chelsea.
