Journalist says Leeds United have told him one transfer rumour just isn’t true
Leeds United could be set to lose a number of key players this summer.
Archie Gray has already left the club, while rumours around the futures of Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter continue to persist.
Illan Meslier is another player who has been linked with a move away from Leeds, but according to Graham Smyth, speaking on the , some of the rumblings around Meslier are wide of the mark.
Indeed, the journalist says that the recent links to Marseille aren’t real, claiming that Leeds simply aren’t aware of any interest, suggesting that it’s nothing concrete.

Illan Meslier rumours aren’t true
Smyth shared what he’s heard on Meslier.
“I don’t see a change in the Leeds United goalkeeping department now. Unless someone comes in and fires one across Leeds’ bows with Meslier, I don’t see a change.
“The Marseille thing for me just isn’t real. Someone is pumping that out, but Leeds aren’t aware of the interest and that means the interest isn’t real because there hasn’t even been a tentative enquiry, so that’s a non-starter right now,”
Arsenal do need more reinforcements in that midfield, and Gomes would be a perfect addition to complement the talent Mikel Arteta’s side already has.
Meslier move unlikely
There are a number of players who may still end up leaving Leeds this summer, but Meslier may not be one of them.
The French goalkeeper wasn’t necessarily exceptional last season in the Championship, and off the back of a couple of shaky Premier League seasons, his stock has dropped.
Meslier is likely going to stay at Leeds and be will be a solid number one at this level, but if Leeds are promoted back to the Premier League, perhaps they will need to look for a replacement for Meslier.
