Journalist says Arsenal are about to make bid for Arthur Melo

Journalist Rudy Galetti that Arsenal are about to make a bid for Arthur amid reports talks with Juventus are back underway.

The Gunners appear to be closing in on their latest signing of the transfer window. Oleksandr Zinchenko is set to complete his move to the Emirates after saying goodbye to his Manchester City teammates.

Obviously, Zinchenko is a signing who can bolster their options in the middle of the park. But he may not be the only midfield signing the Gunners announce in the coming weeks.

Reports this week claimed that Arsenal are back in talks with Juventus over Arthur. Edu came incredibly close to signing the Brazilian during the January transfer window.

The Old Lady are now open to letting the 25-year-old leave. And they may even allow him to leave on an initial loan with a view to a Β£25.6 million permanent move.

And it does seem that talks are moving in the right direction. Galetti has reported on Twitter that Arsenal are now ready to make an offer for Arthur.

Arsenal about to make bid for Arthur

Arsenal fans will be seriously excited about the prospect of Mikel Arteta’s men immediately moving on to their next target once Zinchenko is through the door.

There is definitely a sense that the Gunners are not prepared to stand still in the market.

And Arthur could have the potential to be an outstanding addition. He has had some difficult times since moving to Europe, initially with Barcelona.

But he is an β€˜β€˜ talent. And it says a lot that the likes of Barca and Juve have signed him.

Arsenal may be hoping that he can emulate Martin Odegaard and start to realise his full potential in North London.
