Journalist has been told West Ham now want to sign £16m Liverpool player

Liverpool haven’t made any new signings this summer as yet but one of their newest signings is attracting interest from a fellow Premier League side.

The Reds have endured a frustrating summer so far in the market.

Despite bringing in Arne Slot as new manager, there has been nothing in the way of transfer activity and some Reds fans are a tad concerned.

However, on the reverse of that, there has been plenty of interest in players already on the books at Liverpool.

The likes of Joe Gomez and Caoimhin Kelleher have attracted attention, while Darwin Nunez was the subject of rumour earlier in the window.

And now, according to Alex Crook, the name of Wataru Endo has been mentioned to him in relation to a move to West Ham.

West Ham interested in Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endo

Despite previous suggestions that Endo would be going nowhere this summer, TalkSPORT’s Crook has said this morning that he has heard a whisper that West Ham are keen.

Speaking live on air this morning alongside Alan Brazil and Ray Parlour, Crook dropped in that he’d had a message about Endo suggesting the Hammers were keen.

“I have had a message and one name that has been mentioned to me is Endo, from Liverpool. So I’ll have to check out what’s happening with that one,” Crook said on his transfer round-up.

As we know, West Ham are trying to further enhance their squad this summer and have been linked with a host of new players.

Liverpool only sell Endo if a replacement arrives

With Liverpool hardly pushing the boat out in the market to bring in a host of new players, there’s no way Endo is going unless someone comes the other way.

Sure, Arne Slot might well see value in moving a player on at the old end of the age scale and replacing him with a new and young model.

However, those players will cost money and might need time, and at the moment, Slot will know what he’s getting with Endo as well.

Liverpool generally know what they are doing in the market.

Endo, then, will only be on his way if the deal makes perfect sense to the Reds.
