Journalist claims Wout Weghorst has been promised Tottenham move if club meet £32m asking price
Wolfsburg’s imposing striker Wout Weghorst has reportedly been promised he can move to Tottenham Hotspur if the North London side meet a set asking price for his services.
as he shared on his personal Twitter account this weekend.
He claims that the Dutchman has been told he can join Spurs if Daniel Levy coughs up the €35 million asking price for his services. That is roughly £32 million for a striker who has been in fine form recently.
Weghorst has scored 13 goals from 18 games this season and the 28-year-old has made no secret in the past of an interest in playing in the Premier League. The 6ft 4ins behemoth certainly carries the physical dimensions to be an able striker in English football, especially under the management of the occasionally pragmatic Jose Mourinho.

Amid rumours of £27 million interest in Weghorst from Tottenham over the summer, where he stated that the interest from Spurs was ‘serious’. He has recently reiterated that stance in conversation with media in his homeland.
Tottenham were on the hunt for a new striker throughout the summer to provide back-up to Harry Kane.
In the end, they signed Carlos Vinicius from Benfica on an initial loan deal.
So a move for Weghorst would seem unlikely in January but is undoubtedly something Spurs could revisit at the end of the season, especially if they are unimpressed by the Brazilian’s efforts.
Tottenham and Weghorst is clearly a transfer story that should not be slept on going forward.
